Citrix Sharefile Outlook Plugin – Browser out of date

After installing the Outlook plugin for Citrix Content Collaboration (ShareFile), you may experience an error when trying to sign in.

First time after the install, the plugin need to sign in, which can be initiated by clicking the plugin icon on your Outlook application.

After you give the information about your account and if choosing to sign in with company credentials, you get the following message:

And thereby cannot login and use the plugin.

This is discussed around the web:

Citrix has a separate article about this located here:

Personally, I found that you need a mix of settings/locations mentioned across the various topics to get this to be ok.
To make it easy to get sorted out, add the following collection to your user(s) registry, close Outlook first:
———————————————————
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]

“OUTLOOK.EXE”=dword:00002af8

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]

“OUTLOOK.exe”=dword:00002af8

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]

“OUTLOOK.exe”=dword:00002af8

———————————————————
** Can also be added via Group Policy, or other deployment options if you wish to roll this out to multiple affected users.

You can now open Outlook again and try to sign in.

Hope this helps anyone faced with this issue.
